I’m still thrilled about being back at Heather Bay, and Dripped was a super swoony summer romance!
Darcy and Owen’s story started as a summer fling / hookup as stress relief, as running a successful business proved to be more stressful than Darcy anticipated and left no time to relax or take it easy. Even if he tried to keep it together and hide how stressed he actually was from his friends, it got to the point where it was having an impact on his health. He and Owen had shared a lot of stolen glimpses, and with Darcy being far from subtle about watching Owen swim every morning, he was quick to say yes to Owen’s offer about ‘stress relief’.
What was meant to be ‘just for the summer’ soon got a bit more complicated with feelings emerging, and with Owen only being in town over the summer there was an implied time limit to their fling. The spice was great and a lot of fun, Darcy wasn’t shy about telling Owen what he needed, and Owen surely delivered. I loved the dirty talk and the hint of voyeurism and exhibitionism – so hot!
It was easy to adore both Darcy and Owen, and how they slowly went from hooking up to spending more time together getting breakfast, creating ice cream flavours, cooking and just hanging out. There were a lot of sweet and fun moments with these two, and it was heartwarming to see them slowly getting to know each other and the way their feelings deepened throughout the story.
Dripped was a super sweet addition to this series! It was a lighthearted read with low angst, spicy scenes and great characters and found family. It’s the perfect summer read, just make sure you have some ice cream in your freezer before picking it up!
