An entertaining and sweet romance with dislike to love and brother’s best friend!

Leo was kind of going through the motions, existing but not really living, dealing with a traumatic brain injury and the loss of his husband. He was a bit stuck, and he took out some of his frustrations on his brother’s best friend / neighbour, North. They were already on shaky terms when the story started, but it was easy to figure out from North’s PoV that the dislike / hostility was one sided and based on misunderstandings.

North could come off as self-assured and a little cocky, but he was such a sweet character and a natural caretaker. He had quite a lot of baggage, and I loved to see these two reach the point where they could find comfort and support from each other. Their relationship development was pretty far from smooth, but things got better once they started to actually communicate.

The disability rep and found family was fantastic as always, and even if there were some heavier themes in this one, it was still a mostly sweet story with low angst. The misunderstandings and lack of communication between Leo and North was both entertaining and a little frustrating, but I’m always up for a little hostility / arguing as foreplay, and these two certainly delivered on that!

Don’t Fall was a heartfelt and sweet romance, and I really enjoyed North and Leo’s story. I loved the found family, and there were a lot of interesting characters introduced here that I’m excited to get to know more about!
