I was quite relieved that I could pick up this one instantly after finishing The Memories We Made – I was so invested in Nate and Ash’s story! Cara Dee definitely turned up the angst and heartbreak here, but I loved how it all worked out in the end.

Nate and Ash were both struggling with the separation, and the pining / yearning was a lot at times. The way they hurt being apart was heartbreaking, but it was still obvious how much they loved each other. After seeing how great they were together and with the strong family focus in the first part, it was a bit difficult for me to grasp how they ended up lonely and hurting. They were definitely too stubborn for their own good, and it was a huge relief once they actually talked things out and reconciled.

As much as I loved Nate and Ash together, I was very curious about their relationships / dynamics with Jordan and James. It was a slow burn, Jordan and James were tiptoeing around Ash at first and only hinting about wanting more with him. It was easy to adore Jordan though, and how Ash pretty much instantly went into Daddy mode around him. It was sweet seeing them all connect, and I especially enjoyed the spark between Jordan and Nate during the demo. The dynamics between the four of them felt natural, and I’d love to see more of them once they’ve had the chance to get more familiar and settled with each other.

The Time We Have Left was a fantastic sequel to The Memories We Made, and I was pretty much glued to my Kindle for all of Ash and Nate’s journey. There were a lot of lighthearted and sweet moments mixed in with the heartbreak and high levels of yearning and longing. Things also got steamier in this part, and the way Ash and Nate made Jordan fall apart at the event? Super hot!

I have so much love for this series, and if you haven’t picked it up yet I highly recommend checking it out!
