Clearly, he needed to get laid. Especially if he was thinking about showing the rook the pleasure of a well-placed bruise. Of a grip that was a shade too tight.
Stealing His Thunder was a sweet and slow burn-y romance with a grumpy veteran and “his” sunshiny rookie!
I really enjoyed Cam and Dawson’s romance! It had a veteran down on his luck, a new rookie, a little hero worship – and maybe the best worst idea anyone ever had. Dawson was really struggling at the beginning of the story, and he was pretty shut down. Cam wasn’t bothered by the grumpy veteran though, and once they started hanging out they couldn’t stay away from each other.
Cam was great with Dawson, and I loved how he was a steady support and provided some much needed outside perspective. Things felt very easy and seamless between them right from the start, as they were going from teammates, to hooking up, to more. Their relationship never really felt like a casual thing, even if Dawson was insistent on labelling it as such. They were so cute together, and I loved their little dates as they explored Toronto together.
Despite everything that Dawson was going through and the brief, dicey situations that Cam found himself in, it was a low angst read with lots of sweet moments. Cam was a total sweetheart, and it was fun to see how not even the grumpiest veteran could resist his sunshiny personality. I loved the interactions between the teammates, there was a lot of playful banter and ribbing, and of course Aiden being his chaotic self. I’m also super excited that Ramsey’s story is up next – I feel like I’ve been waiting ages for him to find his HEA!
