I was super excited for Reid and Evan’s story after finishing Finlay, and their story was heavy on the hurt / comfort!
I love the universe that Lark Taylor has created, and I was eager to see Evan and Reid trying to overcome their past and move on together. As usual, their journey had quite a few bumps along the way, and Reid was adamant about not wanting to see Evan at all in the beginning.
There was a certain pull between them though, and Evan was desperate to try to help Reid this time around. Their progression was gradual, and a bit of a slow burn, with a lot of hurt / comfort and heartfelt moments. I loved seeing Reid with the pack and Evan’s family, they were so great with him and he deserved to feel safe and cared for.
The suspense kept building throughout the story, and while the pacing felt a little off at times, it was very easy to get into the story. I didn’t put it down for a long time after starting it, and I loved to see how protective Evan was of Reid, even when Reid didn’t want anything to do with him.
It was such a treat being back with the McCarthy clan, and Evan was a great addition to the Wild Edges series. It was overall a suspenseful story, with some wonderful hurt / comfort, healing from abuse and found family. Lark also thoroughly teased me with Calan’s story towards the end, and I can’t wait to see how he will handle things with his fated mate!
