The old expression says to never meet your heroes, right? The real trick is to never meet the hot guys you’ve randomly jerked to because, trust me, the disappointment was epic.

This one had been sitting on my TBR for years, and since I was in the mood for a sweet summerish read I figured I’d give it a try.

There were a ton of characters introduced in the first chapters and a lot of names to keep track of, so I have to admit I was very confused at first. I’m still not entirely sure I remember all of them, but it got less confusing along the way. I really liked the initial tension between Knox and Gage, and seeing Knox go from disliking Gage to being caring and possessive of him was a lot of fun!

It was overall a cute read that had me smiling a lot, but the pacing was a bit off and the story ended up feeling dragged out. Once Gage and Knox started hooking up the tension took a dive and the whole ‘is this more than casual, does he feel the same way’-situation between them got a little tiring. Even if I lost some interest in the second half, I felt invested enough to see how Knox and Gage’s HEA came together. Their romance was very sweet and I liked how the orchard offered some romantic scenery.

Even if Pick Me wasn’t entirely what I had hoped for, I enjoyed spending time with the Sunday family. Their banter and ribbing was fun to read and I can’t help but feel curious about some of the characters, so I still might check out some of the other books in this series.

“Dear Precious Angel Baby Jesus, maker of warm puppies and extra-slippery lube, why in your infinite wisdom did you make me attracted to the world’s most stubborn, infuriating human?
