“You don’t owe me another night, or anything past that. You’re in control here, always.”

I’ve been craving Finn’s story ever since Humility came out, and it was well worth the wait! The hurt / comfort was so sweet and tender – Finn and Chester made my heart feel all happy and tingly.

Oh how I adored Finn and Chester! They both felt a pull from the moment they met, but due to past hurt they were hesitant and had their walls firmly in place. The slow burn was perfect here as they both needed time to get to know each other and build up some trust. Chester was a complete sweetheart, and it hurt to see him doubt himself and dealing with the aftermath of his abusive ex. He was feeling so lonely but was terrified of letting someone get close to him again.

Finn was patient and careful with Chester, and made sure to let him set the pace, even with his wolf being a bit fixated on Chester and wanting to claim him. Their relationship development was super sweet and gentle, and I loved how Finn did what he thought was best to keep Chester company and comfort him. There was such a strong sense of hopefulness and healing / moving on in their story, and while it was an emotional read, it never felt particularly heavy or angsty.

Finlay had everything I could have wished for when it came to Finn and Chester’s story – it was hurt / comfort perfection and such a heartwarming read! The revelations that were made here came as a bit of a surprise to me, and I loved seeing Danny and the demon boys again. I’m very excited (as well as terrified) about seeing more about the suspense plot and feud that began here, and I can’t wait for the next story!

Finn would never hurt me.
He just wanted to keep me safe.
It had been a long time since anyone had made me feel that way.
I was going to hold on to it with both hands for as long as I could.
