He’s here, in my boat, in a space I’ve always kept for just myself. And I can’t continue to ignore the feelings I get when I’m around him.
I’m attracted to him. And I want him.
Fuck.
Tide Over was such a beautiful and emotional story!
This was a story that had me in tears several times, even if it ultimately was a heartwarming and feel good read. The hurt / comfort was amazing, though Liam’s loss and grief sometimes hit a little too close to home for me. His pain was very well written, and it broke my heart to see his struggles and self-harming. I loved seeing Liam slowly opening up to Theo, and the way they both found comfort in each other.
I adored both Theo and Liam – they were just so wholesome and cute together! They almost instantly found a kind of quiet understanding with each other, and I loved seeing them doing things together and bantering. Them going from strangers to roommates to friends to lovers felt natural, and it was full of character development and sweet moments.
I enjoyed the slower pace of the story, and it fit really well with the character and their backgrounds. Liam needed time and space, and I loved how steady and supportive Theo was for him. There was so much tenderness and development in their story, and I loved how it all came together
Tide Over offered some beautiful and heartbreaking hurt / comfort, with focus on healing, love and support. It was a wonderful and emotional slow burn, with a lot of character growth and charming small town vibes. I highly recommend this one, and Eve Holmes is definitely an author I’ll read more of!
Theo’s eyes widen slightly as they meet mine, and we stand in silence with my hand grasping his arm. I don’t even know what to say, or why I did that. I just… need him to be here, with me, for a moment longer. I just feel safe with him.
