“Last night was a reminder of how damn much I want you. That sort of want and desire doesn’t happen very often for me. But you’ve always been the exception to my every rule.”

Want You Back was a beautiful and swoony second chance romance!

This hit a lot of the right feelings for me, and I loved to see Colt and Mav reconnect! I really enjoyed the romance between these two – they were so sweet and swoony together. With their chemistry and history, it didn’t take long until I was fully invested in their story.

Colt and Mav shared such a strong connection, and while things were far from straightforward between them, it wasn’t overly angsty either. They had some unresolved hurt to work through, and the chapters about their past helped to give some insights into their history and friendship. It was so sweet to see them getting to know each other all over again, being a little more mature and better at communicating.

It was a heartfelt story, and the combination of hurt / comfort, second chance and small town were fantastic. Colt and Mav’s second chance came with quite a bit of obstacles and uncertainties, but it was very easy to root for them to finally get their HEA. Both of them had a lot to deal with, and there were a few difficult topics brought up, such as past loss and abuse, grief and addiction.

Want You Back was an amazing beginning to this series, and I adored Colt and Mav! Their story was full of emotions in the best ways, and they had me both smiling and tearing up at times. It was overall a swoony and heartwarming romance though, with very likeable characters. I also liked the teasing about the next couple, and I’m already very excited about going back to the Second Chance ranch!

“Believe in us.” I pressed a quick kiss to his mouth. “None of us know what the future will bring. I saw that really clearly last night. I’m optimistic, but I’m not unrealistic. We’ll have hard times. Good years. Bad years. Low cattle prices. Ruined crops. Kid drama. Sheriff stress for you. But I want to have all the times together.”
