I loved the glimpses of Kess and Rowdy’s connection and sparks in Rough Country, so I am thrilled that they got their own book!
I have to admit that I expected a pretty straightforward romance, but I guess I should have known better when it comes to Kelly Fox. There was so much more to Rowdy than I first thought, and I loved the emotional depth of the story. It hurt to see how he was hiding parts of himself and what he was doing from everyone, creating an image of himself instead of showing people the real Rowdy. It made sense though, considering his past, and it was great to see him slowly starting to let people in throughout the story.
Kess and Rowdy had so much chemistry and I loved how things slowly developed between them, Kess was very patient, and I loved how he took the time to get to know and read Rowdy. Rowdy needed the time to feel safe and Kess was great at reassuring him and taking care of him. Their banter and flirting were fantastic, and they had me both laughing and swooning!
Pure Country was a beautiful and emotional story, and Kess and Rowdy were so sweet together! Kelly Fox did a fantastic job of portraying Rowdy’s character and his sexuality, and I loved seeing him come into his own while also finding his person. I honestly can’t wait for more Central Texas stories, and I’m already super excited for the next pairing!
