“You don’t get lonely?”
“So fucking lonely.” Tam touches his good hand to his chest. “But I’ve been broken before, and I don’t have the energy to fix myself again.”
Christmas on Stardust Lane was a beautiful holiday read from Garrett Leigh!
Tam and Bhodi were both a bit bruised and battered, and so very protective of their hearts, but they couldn’t resist the pull they felt towards each other. Tam might have looked like a big, tattooed biker, and he might have been a bit grumpy about having a lodger, but he was truly a big softie. I loved how tactile he was, and how he wanted to take care of Bhodi, even when he barely knew him.
Bhodi was a sweetheart and my heart ached for him and his tendency to fall for men who didn’t return his feelings. He wasn’t the best at taking care of himself, and it was sweet to see how he and Tam tentatively started to spent time together. Things developed very naturally between them, they were completely precious together and took care of each other in the ways they could.
It was an emotional read at times, with moments, characters and pasts that felt real. I love the way Garrett Leigh writes her characters, the depth and contradictions are always on point, and the way they find comfort in their partners is just perfection. There was a moment of miscommunication, and a pinch of angst thrown in, but overall it was a sweet and swoony read.
Christmas on Stardust Lane had the perfect combination of hurt / comfort, bruised and battered MCs, and Christmas magic. I loved the cameos and the connection to Garrett Leigh’s other stories, but it also works great by itself. It’s fantastic story that I can’t recommend enough, and I’m so excited for Sab’s story next year!
My body is a map of scars and bad decisions, but I’m not shy. How Bhodi makes me feel is part of me, and I’m not afraid to show him.
