Let’s take a little look inside of Something Unprofessional by Rory Maxwell, the fifth book in the Split Rock Ranch series.
I just adored Ev and his sass! Something Unprofessional had a lot of great tropes and I loved how they played out – starting with a bit of secret identities in a kink club. It was entertaining to see Ev realise that the person hiding behind the mask and being all dreamy and Daddy with him was his boss…
The connection between Ev and Gabe was fantastic and I loved how easy they fell into their Daddy / boy dynamic. For being a boss / employee romance it was still pretty low angst, and the trope definitely added more entertainment and humour than angst to the story. Rory Maxwell is great at writing gentle and caring Daddies, and I have so much love for this series!
How it begins…
Ev moaned and braced his palms against the mirror, grateful to whoever decided the club should have private bathrooms. “I’m close,” he managed to choke out.

“Oh my god, Daddy,” Ev whined, squirming. “Please. Please.”
“Please, what?”
“More, please. Touch me, spank me, f*ck me. Anything,” Ev babbled. One touch of Daddy’s palm and he’d completely lost control of the words leaving his mouth.
