The Heir’s Disgrace by August Jones

Let’s take a a little look inside of The Heir’s Disgrace by August Jones, the first book in the Doormen of the Upper East Side series.

I love August Jones’ writing and stories, and this was a fantastic start to a new series! I was so intrigued by Drew and Oliver and their… violent attraction to each other. What they shared was initially raw, toxic and destructive, and it was difficult to see how anything good could ever come from that. It was easy to feel for them though, and it didn’t take long before I was completely invested in everything going on.

The Heir’s Disgrace was a highly entertaining and wild ride all the way through, and I loved the pacing and the twists and turns. Drew and Oliver were both characters that grew on me and they both had some great character growth throughout the story. If you’re looking for an intense and spicy hate to love romance with some kink & drama, this is it!

How it begins…

This guy.
Fuck this guy.
With his Tom Ford suits and his Cartier necklace and his Prada shoes. His goddamn Rolex. Flawless, fresh, young skin, and his Hollywood perfect hair.

Tropes

  • age gap
  • opposites attract
  • hate to love
  • double sexual discovery
  • class difference
  • forced proximity

He makes me feel like no one in my life ever has—like I’m worth more than my name or my inheritance. Like I’m worth more than an hour a day. Like I’m just plain fucking worth it.

What to expect

  • erotic romance
  • violent attraction
  • cheating (not between MCs)
  • dub-con & breath play
  • toxic & destructive relationship
  • mental health struggles
  • family issues & drama

My feelings for him are surreal. Loving Olivier hurts in a way I don’t think loving someone is supposed to, but I don’t know how to make it feel better. I don’t even know if I should try.
