68 Whiskey by Erin Russell

Let’s take a a little look inside of 68 Whiskey by Erin Russell, the second book in the Possum Hollow series.

68 Whiskey was an amazing read, full of feels and gritty reality. I fell hard for both Tristan and Ford, and loved everything about their dynamic and the way their relationship slowly came together. Seeing Tristan being bratty but totally melting in Ford’s hands was both entertaining and hot, and I loved the push and pull between them.

Erin Russell really brought all the feels into this story and had me hooked straight away. It got heavy and dark at times, with an overhanging feeling of desperation and hopelessness, so be mindful of the TWs if needed. If you’re looking for an angsty romance with great characters and some grit to it, I very much recommend checking out this series – it’s been fantastic so far!

How it begins…

The Egg McMuffin I’m shoveling into my mouth is at least two hours old. It’s a stone-cold mess of congealed egg and cheese, but it’s still the best goddamn thing I’ve put in my mouth all week.
As depressing as that is.

Tropes

  • hurt / comfort
  • found family
  • grumpy / sunshine
  • dislike to love
  • small town

I wasn’t planning on Tristan crashing through the walls of my carefully constructed defenses like the Kool-Aid man. He’s mouthy and bratty and mutters filth in my ear like a porn star, and you can only have that throw itself at you so many times before you give in.

What to expect

  • emotional & gritty
  • grumpy / psychotic sunshine
  • hooking up leading to more
  • a little co-dependency
  • mental health & disability rep
  • past hurt and trauma
  • extra hot dirty talk

“I need you, dumbass. You’re the thing that I can’t live without.”
