Let’s take a little look inside of Rough Country by Kelly Fox.
This story is everything I love about grumpy / sunshine! One very prickly cowboy with barbed wired walls around his heart, and a sunshiny, bossy city boy slowly breaking down the walls with affection and stubbornness. I loved the combination of sweet, spicy and emotional moments and Kelly Fox had me tearing quite a few times through the story.
I loved this book a lot and I’m not ready to be done with this found family just yet, so I hope that Rowdy gets his own story. If you’re a fan of grumpy / sunshine with a bit of hurt / comfort and MCs starved for affection, this needs to be on your TBR!
How it begins…
There I was, sweat dripping down my butt crack, the beginnings of a sunburn on the back of my neck, left to wonder if I hadn’t put too much faith in a ladder I’d found in the old barn. One thing was for certain—the ground was looking awfully far away.

I didn’t hate the thought of belonging to him. I wasn’t even afraid. How could I be when he was whispering sweet filth into my ears as he slow-fucked me into a morning coma?
