Seth cupped Rueben’s face and lowered his head. “You’re not alone in this, baby. I want us too.”

I love how Aimee Nicole Walker built the tension between Rueben and Seth throughout the series, and their own story was full of stolen moments, steamy encounters and suspense!

Seth and Reuben had sparks and chemistry for days! I’ve loved seeing the glimpses of their attraction to each other in the previous books, and after Reuben’s accident it seemed like things got extra intense between them. With Seth being the sheriff and Reuben being a witness in a big case, they couldn’t act on their feelings until after the trial though.

These two just couldn’t stay away from each other for that long, and against their better judgement, they kept meeting up in secret. I loved the emotions between Reuben and Seth – the pining, the longing, their explosive chemistry when they found moments to be together… And the secret / forbidden state of their relationship enhanced things really well. I liked how it was written and the way they both needed to keep it a secret – it never felt one sided or like one of them was hurting by keeping it a secret.

The trial and case added some suspense to the story, and there was a bit of extra complication with Seth’s ex digging around it as a reporter as well. Seth and Reuben couldn’t risk anyone finding out about them, but they weren’t willing to step away from each other either, and I loved the tension it added to the story.

The Keeper was a fantastic read and Aimee Nicole Walker did a great job of building both the romance and tension between Reuben and Seth, but also the suspense and feeling of impending doom. It was definitely worth the wait to see these two find their HEA together, and I loved being back at Redemption Ridge!

Seth had scooped him in his arms and pressed a firm kiss to his lips. “I will apologize for many things, but loving you will not be one of them.”
