Only for the Weekend by Riley Hart

Let’s take a little look inside of Only for the Weekend by Riley Hart, the first book in the Inevitable series.

I absolutely loved Sam and Emerson’s story – it had so much heart it in! The dynamic between these two was a lot of fun, the banter together with the grumpy / sunshine was a great combo. Sam wasn’t afraid to call Emerson out when needed and I loved how Sam knew what he wanted and went for it.

Only for the Weekend was a captivating read that I didn’t want to put down. The characters, their backgrounds, the angst, the growing affection between them… it was such a phenomenal read!

How it begins…

Twenty-two stab wounds.
Crime of passion.
Why, Bent? Why did you kill me?
I shot up in bed, sweat running down my temples, making its way into my rapidly blinking eyes.

Tropes

  • age gap
  • grumpy / sunshine
  • hurt / comfort

Emerson tasted like sadness dipped in want. Like he needed this but wanted to deny it too because, for whatever reason, he didn’t think he deserved it.

What to expect

  • hookup arrangement to lovers
  • heartfelt & emotional
  • banter & jokes
  • mature & geniune characters
  • ghosts from the past
  • sweet romance
  • a little angst

“My weekends with you are my favorite time, don’t you know? I give everything else up—I don’t wanna give this up too.”
