I had a great time with Jason’s story, so I was excited to see what Carl was up to while Jason and he swapped lives, but sadly I struggled when it came to Carl’s story.
It started off strong with a meet-cute between Carl and Grayson, and then Carl kept literally falling into Grayson’s arms. There were a lot of humour, and awkward situations that Carl put himself in while pretending to be his twin brother. He wasn’t that great at laying low, but he definitely had his heart in the right place and most of the situations occurred while trying to help others.
It was a true slow burn romance, with Carl and Grayson spending quite some time together and slowly getting to know each other. Cluelessness might run in the family, as Carl didn’t pick up on Grayson’s less than subtle jealously when it came to the blind date that Carl was set up on and things going on afterwards. I had a hard time to feel the connection between Carl and Grayson, I struggled overall with connecting with the characters and story, but I think it was a me issue. The PoV seemed to create more distance to the characters for me and I had some difficulties with getting into the story. After Jason’s story, I was just expecting a little more than I got.
Capricorn Faces Scorpio had a lot of funny and sweet moments, and the secret / swapped identities created some tension and suspense. Carl turned out to be quite different from what I first thought he’d be, and it was sweet how he tried to help others while also dealing with his own little identity crisis. I’d recommend reading this series in order, or at least read Jason’s story before reading this one. If you’re a fan of cute stories with a lot of humour and fluff, I’d recommend giving this series a try!
