Maybe Blaise would be the one to burn me completely.
Maybe I’d let him.

I don’t know how Lark Taylor did it, because I never thought I’d be able to feel any sympathy for Blaise after reading Devil May Care, but it just took her a few chapters to make me lose that battle…

Temperance was Blaise’s redemption story, but it also was so much more than that. Blaise and Toby’s story started right after Deal with the Devil, and while it took me a little bit to get a feel for the timeline, it wasn’t long before I was totally engaged in the story and characters. I never thought I’d feel as much for Blaise as I did, and the story was overall heavy on the feels and definitely packed a punch.

I’d been very eager since I first saw that there would be kink in this one, and it really exceeded my expectations! I loved seeing Blaise finding comfort and peace in submitting to Toby, and their size difference made their D/s dynamic even hotter. They fit each other’s needs really well and the way Toby took care of Blaise and supported him was everything. I loved seeing them explore their dynamic, and how it slowly grew into something more emotionally for both of them.

The lack of communication from both Toby and Blaise was a bit infuriating, the contract they had was based on communication and honesty, but they both kept quiet about their feelings for each other which.. I mean, I can understand why they did it, but it created so much angst and complications that made me want to scream. Having read the other books also created a feeling of impending dread, as I partly knew about the situation that would blow things up so to say… I was definitely kept on my toes while reading!

Temperance was a fantastic read, and it had a great mix of angst, humour, found family and precious friendships. I love the world that Lark Taylor has built with these books and I keep falling for every character that she introduces, and as always I’m very excited to see what she’ll write next!

The way he took comfort from me made me want to spirit him away and wrap him in blankets. I wanted to keep him fed. Keep him warm. Keep him safe. Keep him happy.
Oh, fuck.
I wanted to keep him.
