It didn’t matter what his brain was screaming at him, his beast was sure.
He wanted to claim the fucking prince of Midlona as his damn mate.
What. The. Fuck.
I thought I’d end up loving this (I mean, look at this collab), but sadly there were a few things that didn’t quite work out for me.
I loved the supes, there were a lot of different kinds and while there could have been some more details about them and their abilities at the beginning, there were information sprinkled through the story instead. I really liked Jeremiah, he was such a grump and I enjoyed his interactions with Remi. The fated mates and grumpy / brat combo was great and I liked the tension between them.
The whole security agency thing felt weird from the start, I loved the team and their obvious bonds and friendships, but they never felt like professionals. There were a lot of messy parts in the plot, characters who acted totally irrational, and the “villain” was way too predictable for me to feel fully invested in the story. I guess I just expected a little more than I got with this one.
Overall, Sunshine was a read that left me with some mixed feelings, there were parts that I loved and enjoyed, but I was also frustrated by the suspense plot of the story. I have to admit that I’m intrigued by the found family of supes that made up the security agency though, so I’ll probably still keep an eye on this series.
“I don’t know what the future holds,” Jeremiah whispered against his skin. “But I know that I won’t just die for you, Remington. I will live for you, and I will fight for you. And I have never made that vow to anyone before in my life.”
