Atticus chuckled. “He put a gun to your head and you…kissed him?” He looked at his husband fondly. “Yeah, he’s definitely one of yours.”

I’m so completely in love with this found family and all of their banter and shenanigans! Rogue was a great addition to the series and I loved Levi and Shiloh’s story.

In true Onley James fashion, these characters fall hard and fast, and I’m just such a sucker for her characters and dynamics that I can’t help but fall as well. I really enjoyed how things played out between Levi and Shiloh, and it was a pretty wild and slightly unpredictable ride. While this type of insta-love and co-dependency won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, I can totally understand why these characters cling to the first person that they feel safe with, considering what they’ve been through.

Rogue had a lot of abusive family situation, I found it difficult to get through certain scenes and there was quite a lot of manipulation and gaslighting going on, as well as physical abuse. Neither Levi nor Shiloh came from good situations and my heart broke for both of these boys and what they’ve had to endure. The hurt / comfort was sweet though, and I love how Jericho’s boys always have each other’s backs and the way they take care of one another.

It was great to be back in this world that Onley James has created with these series, and I always enjoy seeing familiar characters! I have the tendency to get totally lost in her stories and Rogue was no exception, it was very easy to get engrossed in the story and characters, and I pretty much ended up devouring this book. I also absolutely loved the little flirting and glimpses of what Seven’s story might look like, the tension and brief power dynamic was delicious and I’m so excited for it!

Levi was so warm. Shiloh wanted to burrow into that warmth. Levi felt safe. He felt like…promise. The promise of safety, security, love. Or maybe Shiloh was as crazy as his brother said.
