I joined him on the bed. He caught me up in his arms and pulled me into a kiss, like I was the most precious thing in the world. And I have to say, it was addicting, this kind of attention.
Wow, talk about a delicious read! Toby and Alastair was an addictive couple, and them exploring kink together was so, so, sooo good!
I’ve read some of AE Lister’s previous books, and I have to admit I was initially expecting this to be a bit more full on erotica than what it was. I’m definitely not complaining though – Toby and Alastair were so perfect for each other, and I loved the chance to get to know them and see their relationship develop. Toby was precious and I had a lot of fun reading his PoV, he could be a little bit bratty at times, but was mostly just such a sweet and cheeky character.
What was meant to be a one night stand turned into a lot more with these two, and they had this intense chemistry that managed to last throughout the entire book and made for some seriously steamy scene. The BDSM scenes was relatively mild though, and they mostly focused on exploring things and finding out what Toby liked. I really liked how Alastair’s character was written, it was great to see how he was as a Dom, and the way he took care of Toby. It was easy to tell that he was totally smitten by Toby, and I adored how affectionate and sweet they were together.
Are You There, Moriarty? was overall a great read with low angst and high steam. There was a bit of drama, but not within the relationship and it never felt that angsty to me. I really enjoyed this one and struggled with putting it down at times – it was a fantastic start to a new series, and I’m already looking forward to more books.
“Fuck. Is this what you do in those rooms? Is this the kind of torture I can expect, only with toys and bondage?”
He smiled wider, and the dimple appeared. “Oh, Toby, you have no idea.”
