The man he was in love with. Tomás wore his heart on his sleeve, and Flint wanted to reach out and cradle it so he’d stop feeling so hurt.
Spark of Wrath was a highly emotional, powerful and moving story – and I honestly didn’t expect the impact it had on me. It’s been a few days and I’m still in awe of this fantastic book!
The majority of the story took place about three years after Tomás and Flint initially met. While they never had the chance to start anything, they instantly connected and were still thinking of each other, even years later. It hurt to see how Tomás pushed both Flint and Luke out of his life the way he did, even if I could understand why he did it.
It was a heavy story to read at times, these men had all been through so much, and Tomás story completely broke my heart at times. His journey was an eye-opener and I loved how far he had come after having his life basically shattered. I loved the second chance that these men had, but I’m not going to lie, sometimes it felt hopeless – there was just so much uncertainty and doubt in their path.
Their story had me completely engrossed, and I loved seeing their relationships and dynamics take form. Even if Flint and Luke had Tomás in common, they still had their own moments and interactions which I loved. All three of them had amazing chemistry and the steamy scenes were really, really hot.
Spark of Wrath was an absolutely beautifully written story, with so much emotion and weight to it, and it’s definitely the angstiest book so far in the series. I loved the journey for all three of the characters and how their dynamic developed. There were a lot of heartbreaking and painful moments, but also a lot of love and forgiveness.
He had never been a praying man, not since he’d escaped home, but for the first time in years, he was ready to beg God for this one single chance to be happy.
