Of Sunlight and Stardust by Riley Hart & Christina Lee

Let’s take a little look inside of Of Sunlight and Stardust by Riley Hart & Christina Lee.

For me, Of Sunlight and Stardust is the kind of story that stays with you, and even if it’s been years since I read it, it’s still with me. It’s truly a beautiful and heartbreaking story, filled with so much emotion, and the last few chapters had me sobbing.

The loneliness of both Tanner and Cole was tangible, and I love how they found comfort in each other. There was so much tenderness and vulnerability in their story, and the way their relationship developed was just perfection.

I also love how the ending is left to be interpreted by the reader, with an almost magical touch to it.

How it begins…

Something strange happened today. I shouldn’t risk writing it down… If anyone read it… Lord, if anyone read it, I’d be sent away.

Tropes

  • strangers to friends to lovers
  • hurt / comfort
  • sexual discovery
  • small town

“I know it sounds crazy, but…you’re all I’ve got.” There was a vulnerability in Tanner’s voice that Cole felt in his bones.
He was all Tanner had? That broke his heart, and he wondered how they got there, how they got to that point.

What to expect

  • professor / ex convict
  • a mystery from the past
  • grief
  • sweet & tender MCs
  • lots of emotions
  • a bit of a slow burn
  • small town judgement

Tanner tasted like the wheat beer he’d drank at the bar.
But also like smiles and joy and home.
And all the things he’d ever longed for inside his heart.
