I left him, still lying on his dining table with his trackpants around his thighs, covered in my come, and I walked out.
What a fantastic and intense enemies to lovers! EWB was a steamy and enjoyable story with great hate sex and hurt / comfort.
I loved the chemistry and dynamic between these two, and I really enjoyed how the hurt / comfort came through a bit into the story. The hate sex was steamy and the way Marshall used Valentine, while having Valentine begging for it was super hot.
There was some real animosity between them initially, even if it might have been for somewhat childish reasons, but I guess those kind of feelings rarely are logical. I liked how it lasted quite a bit into the story before it slowly started to turn into something else.
I love how N.R. Walker writes hurt / comfort and the way Marshall slowly started to care for Valentine melted my heart. Enzo the cat was also a great character, and his presence throughout the story was both sweet and funny.
EWB was an enjoyable read and it was exactly what I needed at the time. If you’re a fan of enemies to lovers and hate sex, make sure to add this to your TBR!
I tried to squirm away and he pushed me down harder. “You wanted it,” he grunted. “You fucking take it.”
