For a moment, everything is still. It’s our panting breaths. It’s me on my knees with his hand in my hair, pressed against his thigh, my name said in his voice still leaving a ringing trace behind.

Sicken of the Calm was a sweet and kinky romance. I loved to see how Ezra and Joaquin carefully explored their D/s dynamic, it was such a deliciously steamy and beautifully written story!

Joaquin’s PoV was interesting, and I especially liked his thoughts while researching kink and submission, and I wouldn’t have minded more discussion about it. I also liked how he wasn’t a stereotypical jock, and his insecurities in social situations were very relatable for me. He was such a sweet golden retriever character!

I loved the kink and how it was approached here, there was mostly lighter explorations, but it made for some very steamy scenes. These two were so sweet and I really liked how the kink had a bit of a softer edge to it. There was a bit of a insta-lust, but I thought it worked out well here, since the characters had some shared history.

I very much enjoyed this baby Dom / sub story – it had some great kink in it, along with some sweet, slow burn romance. Overall a great read, and I will definitely check out the other books in the series!

I want him so much it’s like a force that is meant to be out in the universe, moving planets and creating stars.
