“I don’t think you’re just anything,” Rory said. “I think you could be everything.”
Had anyone ever looked at him with so much hunger and possession?
The Fortunate Son was a great continuation of the Redemption Ridge series!
I loved Rory and Ivan’s instant and intense chemistry! I was intrigued by Ivan from the first book and I really enjoyed getting to know him more. He came across as gruff and a little grumpy at first, but it wasn’t long before his softer sides showed.
The banter and back and forth between Ivan and Rory was a lot of fun, especially with all their chemistry and tension. Both of them had been through a lot in the past and I liked the hurt / comfort aspects of their story. Even with the characters’ past traumas, the story never felt particularly heavy, it got emotional at times but overall I just really enjoyed seeing Ivan and Rory finding comfort in each other.
I’m growing very fond of the found family vibes in this series and there are some great side characters as well. There were some angst and drama here, but nothing over the top – just a perfectly enjoyable story.
I’m very curious about Cash and his story, and I definitely look forward to seeing more of Redemption Ridge! As there’s a bit of an overarching plot in the series, I’d recommend reading them in order, even if I’m sure they’d also do fine as standalones.
“I’m going to keep you,” Rory whispered as he stared into the eyes he adored so much.
“Not if I keep you first.”
