The Husband Game by Brigham Vaughn

Let’s take a little look inside of The Husband Game by Brigham Vaughn, the first book in the Relationship Goals series.

This is one of my favourite reads this year, Dustin and Charlie’s story totally captured me and I just couldn’t put it down! Dustin was an absolute sweetheart of a man and he was super considerate and thoughtful, especially where Charlie was concerned. Charlie on the other hand was quite the firecracker, but hiding behind his armour was someone with some pretty heavy baggage, feeling quite fragile and insecure. Their romance was a slow burn, despite the waking up married situation, and I had a great time seeing these men figure out that their fake relationship might not be so fake after all…

The Husband Game was a great start of a new series and I loved Dustin’s teammates and their found family dynamic, and I’m really excited about getting to know them!

How it begins…

Dustin Fowler groaned into a pillow, his brain at least three sizes too big for his skull and throbbing with the beat of his heart.

Tropes

  • hockey
  • woke up married
  • hurt / comfort
  • size difference
  • fake relationship
  • opposites attract
  • forced proximity

Dustin brushed his lips across
Charlie’s temple, breathing in his scent. “Take your time, kitten. I’m not going anywhere. If and when you’re ready, I’ll be here.”

What to expect

  • great chemistry between MCs
  • slow burn romance
  • lots of banter and sass
  • mental health – ED
  • found family
  • teammate shenanigans
  • all the feels

Dustin beamed. “I scored that first goal for you.”
“Aww. Aren’t they all for me?”
